Taking Time For A

Retail Fix

F.M. Light opened his store at 830 Lincoln Avenue in 1905, selling Levis, boots, Stetsons, saddles and other necessities for life in the West. Today, F.M. Light & Sons remains the town’s oldest retail establishment – still at the same address and, four generations later, still run by the Light family. It’s one of more than 250 shops, boutiques and galleries in town, which together ensure that that you’ll have plenty to keep you busy when the shopping mood strikes. Between the shops at Mountain Village and many storefronts in downtown Steamboat, there’s something for everyone.
